Traci Hines & Brendan Bradley’s Official Video cover of Love Is an Open Door from Disney’s Frozen! Music Video Created by the SteamyintheCity Creator Studio!
A Few Words From Traci Hines…
The Story: This is our cover of Love Is an Open Door from Disney’s Frozen! I remember seeing the film for the first time shortly after it was released, and once this scene began, I knew this was going to be my favorite song from the film! This little duet between Anna & Hans just stole my heart! It’s so quirky and adorable! …or should I say, Adorkable? Funnily enough I was already looking for a song to duet on with Brendan, (we met on a Fearnet shoot last Oct. playing a zombie’s roommates & established then that a duet on youtube must happen) so we got in touch & decided this was our new favorite song! Enter Scott & Kristina of the Steamy in the City music collective, who designed this amazing set & even created the wall projections of the moon & clock to mimic some of the iconic moments in the scene so closely! Their passion and attention to detail was so amazing for this project, and we can’t wait to share more of our projects with ya in the future! The talented Kurt Hunter created & produced the track for us, and when Brendan & I went in to the studio to record, were surprised to find that we actually got to record & sing with each other in real time, as opposed to tracking one person at a time. It was awesome getting to play off each other in the recording, which was a great precursor to creating the video later in the month. Our incredible costumer is my friend, Angi Viper, who is not only one of the loveliest costumers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, but also is probably one of the biggest fans of Frozen ever. I mean, who doesn’t love Frozen? I’m certainly obsessed…but Angi already cherished this film before most of us even knew Disney was making it! So I knew she was the perfect person to create my Anna gown. I couldn’t be happier with this beautiful costume, every detail takes my breath away! Angi also made the Hans costume (it’s actually her friend Shawn’s and they were both kind enough to let us borrow it! Angi even altered it and updated it for Brendan for this video!) Angi & Shawn also both were an incredible help when it came to the set creation & also helped on the day of filming! Angi sewed each “wall” of fabric to create the set, and Shawn (along with our friends Erika & Niklas, and I) cut the bolts of fabric for Angi to sew. Artist Tommy Miller also filmed lots of fun BTS stuff that you’ll get to see a little later, so thanks so much Tommy! Brendan also doubled as our choreographer & my dance instructor on set, so thanks so much to Brendan for the bonus dance lessons! Overall, this project was a labor of love, and took about 3 months to complete. I am so grateful to everyone who made this a reality, and feel so blessed to be able to collab with such talentd people who also love Disney music as much as I do! I hope you guys enjoy the video! Thanks so much for watching!
